So, I just watched Wong Kar Wai's "Happy Together" for the first time...and I'm floored. The magnitude of such a simple story is outstanding. Quiet desperation, beauty, and cigarettes...Tony Leung...Leslie Chueng...just...wow. I saw "In the Mood for Love" and enjoyed WKW's style immensely, but this film tops it by a landslide. yes, "Happy Together" is wonderful...i especially like the subplot w/ the Taiwanese cook...and knowing about Leslie Cheung's suicide made his depressed scenes all the more chilling (similar to watching "Rebel Without a Cause" knowing the fates of the three main actors)...

Yes! I loved Chang's character--he was a breath of fresh air for the film.

PS, I checked out your livejournal page...do you still need a copy of the All About Lily Chou-Chou soundtrack? Because I adore that film, and can send you the files through yousendit if you need it.

hmm, thanks!...i have yet to figure the logistics of yousendit, et al...i actually desperately need to start putting at least 200 of my 800 or so cd's onto an ipod (in preparation for a long trip i plan to take in early 2007)...but i will take you up on the offer soon (yousendit will allow me to transfer it to my ipod?)...

yeah, All About Lily Chou-Chou reveals sides of Japan that most people don't experience...sidenote: have you read "Out" by Natsuo Kirino? -- highly recommended (by me!...*smiles*)...
