I agree with your assessment of Rome. It's very dark, but that is the way it's supposed to be portrayed. In my opinion Pullo is the best character. Very well done show. If you need something else to watch. Check out Deadwood or Dexter. Both fantastic shows.

I've seen a couple of episodes of Deadwood, it seems well done. I really liked Ian McShane when he was in a series called Lovejoy. I think you could pull off a pretty good Al Swearengen if you just grew out your sideburns... (I can teach you all about that... hehe)

I really liked the last episode of Rome, Octavian is going to start to come into his own soon!

I've also been following Rome, but am a bit behind. Great show. I've got my minor nit-picky stuff with some of the historical accuracy, but I think they're trying and are (for the most part) pulling it off.

Lyn, Colin, and I have been playing WoW again. I haven't bought the expansion......yet. Will probably cave in soon enough.

Was thinking of starting a priest- would you recommend the class or no?

Yeah, most of the innacuracies can be lent to the fact that they're taking liberties with some of the characters. And a couple of small details, i.e., I'm pretty sure Octavian wasn't in Rome when Julius Ceasar was killed.

As for a priest... levelling can be tedious, until you get deep into the shadow tree. Shadow Priests are one of the highest DPS classes. Healing priests are really only good for raids.

Paladins are the "let's try and do it all class". They can heal, but not as well as Priests or Druids. They can attack, but don't have the DPS of Rogues nor the pure tanking and holding aggro power of Warriors (or Feral Druids). They have some very nice tricks, AOE damage, good against undead and demons... They cure poison, disease and dispel magic. A Pally in my guild just hit level 70 and has a really awesome trick called Avenging Wrath... Adds 30% damage for 20 seconds and gives him cool wings!

My main is a lvl 65 Priest. I like playing him, but it's partially because I like to be responsible for keeping everyone alive. When I'm sick of healing I often play my lvl 50 Rogue. Rogue is completely awesome if you want pure damage, some cool tricks like sneaking and picking locks... but in a dungeon or raid style fight watch yourself because Elite mobs can eat you for breakfast!

So, are you saying that if I like playing SoC I can purchase a version of it for my compy or some gaming console and play it thusly???

Really, cause if I could I'd squeel with glee and then giggle like a fool because it would take up any spare time I had until I got frustrated with it and stopped playing out of frustration.

Please, let me/Bang know so he can buy it for me.

Thanks! LL

Well, the link I posted above for Settlers of Catan, is a fully playable and completely free version for your computer. This is available for quite some time. You cannot play against the computer (there is no built in AI), it's mostly for network play against your friends. However I believe you can "sign-up" and then play against complete strangers in "rated" matches. There is some kind of leader board and ranking system as well.

What I was mainly referring to was the same developer who made this software, has come out with a computer version of the Settlers expansion: Cities and Knights of Catan. It's not 100% done yet, but in such a state that it's playable.

As far as consoles go, I believe Settlers of Catan has been available on Xbox Live Arcade since late August, but I can't confirm that because I don't own an Xbox.
