three birds were perched motionless, all in a line,
silently sitting on a telephone wire.
the two older birds were entirely fine,
but the youngest bird asked, “why can’t we fly higher?”
the eldest bird quickly and calmly replied,
“we are birds, and it’s not in our nature to fly.”
