It isn't us or them... its SURPRISE, look what we did. They are 16% over budget, and neither the Republican controlled congress nor the Democrat governer did anything to let us know what was happening.

Fiscal conservancy? In America? Son, did we lose a war or something? If we do that, and- worse- live *gasp* within our means- then the terrorists have won.

I am not familiar with what Arizona has to spend its state income on. I'd like to believe that even in tough times there would be enough to fund education as well as fix the potholes and restore the bridges (maybe even extend light rail if its an amazingly beneficial system. Which it could be.)
I think there is a problem when education isn't the priority. I know politicians say education is important, but why is education always part of the conversation when we start talking about cuts?
Who is NOT getting their programs cut? I'd like to see that more often, so I (a member of the public) can agree that the decision to make education cuts is reasonable, compared to the other programs that could be cut. Maybe this theoretical "transparency" idea will trickle down to the states.
