fanfic: star trek xi

title: an indian summer
pairings/characters: spock/uhura, kirk, implied mccoy/uhura
rating: pg-13 for suggestivness and kirk's potty mouth
summary: they say if you love something, you should set it free.
a/n: this is basically my take on what might've happened if spock prime didn't intervene and tell spock to follow his heart.

Nyota’s eyes are still dripping with tears, as she fully comprehends what must happen next. There is no other option. Neither of them are free to love each other anymore. That time has long past. )

pairing: spock/uhura, fanfic: star trek xi

Thank you! Yes, I think she definitely stayed the night. But after that, it's totally up to you to decide whether she left in the morning or whatever.

Thanks! Before Sunset is such a great movie and I've always been fixated on the ending.

Sometimes it is much more powerful to let the moment hang than spell it out. Great work.
My understanding of Indian summer is that it was the last warm weather in autumn before the trees dropped their leaves, the Indians would attack the settlers then; after the harvest and before the trees lost their cover, thus the “Indian” Summmer. So I suppose it is the last heat before a winter, the last time of concealment before the bare skeleton of the relationship is revealed and also a time of sudden and unexpected attack; emotional pain perhaps or maybe just love. That’s my take on it and I’m sticking to it.

Thank you. That's a very interesting interpretation but I'm glad people have found different meanings in it.

Also, I have to admit the idea for this story actually came from the Katy Perry song, Thinking of You, which had a line in it that went "you're like an indian summer in the middle of winter".
