Theres something uncomfortably familiar about the feel of bare legs under a black dress at 8am, blowdrying hair in the thick silence of impending mourning.

Suddenly it's become plain to me that we're not immune anymore, we're at the age where parents can die.

Yeah, I didn't know it was full. Anyway, I was in some remote area not in the downtown vicinity at all, and I was pretty much not in the mood to hang out afterwards, so I just drove home. It was a somber kind of day.

Yeah I'm okay. A friends dad died, and thats weird, you know?

yes, I know exactly what you mean... I went to a shiva or memorial for my friends dad last month. It's really scary/weird to think that your parents aren't going to always be there for you like they were when they were younger. I give my regards and sympathy to your friend.
