On Vox: Is she dead or merely faking it?

Delilah, my decrepit digital camera, seems to have slipped into a mechanical coma. She turns on, but does not take photos or sync with any computer. On windows, nothing happens at all, and in Linux I am unable to see the device on the USB bus. I have tried replacing her batteries and fiddling with the memory card, to no use.

A camera is more than just a toy. Yes, it is used for pleasure, but it is also a way of expressing yourself. I think that it is as necessary as going tanning, or a bottle of wine. If the camera won't wipe your savings out, but only dent it, don't feel bad about it IF you are reasonable and find a good deal on one.

My palm just died, won't even turn on, and I depend on it in the clinic. I have been trying very very hard not to spend money at all, nothing over five dollars and no eating out, but this is part of my practice, a tool for my trade. ouch! I feel your pain and understand the difficulty of your choice.
