My biggest annoyance with the movie was the secondary "plot" with the escaped killers, which seemed to serve no purpose or meaning to the main plot other than trivial things. Usually when a writer says "I need one character to be late" they get them caught in traffic instead of adding a escaped criminals secondary legal shenanigans that don't go anywhere.
It was a fun movie, mind you, but had they eliminated those two and focused more on the people that actually mattered, it could have been better.
Whenever I fail to be totally enthralled by a movie, I look to what could be improved, and then note for my own later writing. Hollywood can be better, but it is rare now. Perhaps if I ever get around to writing screenplays I will be able to improve the quality of plot.

Still kinda entertaining, though.
