What Else Would You Do
that's the most recent one i've completed. no. 59 out of a proposed 100 in November.
realistically speaking, i don't think i will finish 100 drawings before 11:59pm on 30 November. i will really, really, really fucking try. but well, i tried to dash off some quick ones earlier today, and i looked at them, and it was just like GAH what the fuck are these they're going in the bin NOW. but the drawings that attract me presently, the complicated ones that take 3-4 hours to do [i don't mean to imply that makes them better or any dumb shit like that; it's just how long it takes me, right now, to do a drawing i really like]- so yeah, the drawings that attract me... presently: fucking: attract me.
what does that original goal of 100 exert? it is not attraction. it is something else that's either secretly better or obviously so much worse. if i dash off 40 casual drawings tomorrow without even worrying whether they are particularly attractive or inspired, would that denigrate the entire project, or would it somehow valorize it?
i guess i'll know in 24 hours or so, or, y'know, god knows how many years after that.
