I'm sure people have said this to you already, but you can beat yourself into oblivion with "I wish I..." statements after someone suicides. There are a million ways to finish that sentence and as well intended as each one is, they all go toward the same point: making the person who says them feel worse over a situation in which they had NO control.
I feel like, yet again, there is a situation in which we (here in MN) are saying, "we're so sorry we can't do more to be with you." But it's still true. Just know we are thinking about you; we're crying with you when you face tragedy and rejoicing with you when you witness creation. We're far away, but we are with you.
