FFVII

So I've pretty much just been playing Final Fantasy 7 for the past 2 days. Finallly finished disc 1 last night. I have the PC version, which obviously is less adequate than the Playstation version, but it hasn't been all that bad. There's an unofficial patch that greatly improves in-game graphics, though it totally destroys the cut-scenes. ( Read more... )

Not EVEN half way through. That's part of why I hate FFVII. I wasn't even very attached to Aeris yet, and just couldn't much care that she was dead.

I, on the other hand, was royally pissed that she died. I wasn't attached to her so much because of the game, though... I had begun writing a novel in which I had characters loosely based on Sephiroth and Aeris (named Theros and Aeila, respectively). Thus, when Aeris died, I was so irked that I killed off Aeila as well. :P

Aww... I'm sorry, Dude.

The scene had been spoiled for me too, and I also thought it would come more toward the end of the game. As it was, I wasn't really attached to her, either. So, yeah, I didn't really care... just kind of left me wondering why people cared enough to complain about it.

I need to finish this game, hopefully it hasn't been deleted. I already had to start over again once, I don't know if I'll be willing to do it again. My problem is that I spend too much time on the computer. Maybe I should've gotten the PC version instead of the playstation one. I might have finished it already.

I should add that what got to me the most about the scene was the music. I <3 Aeris's theme. ^_^

I can't really remember if that bit was spoiled for me...I think it was. It was rather lackluster to me, not only because I didn't see much character in her, but also 'cos I didn't feel like there was any real relationship between Cloud and her. So him sort of looking sad while dropping her into the water wasn't very moving.

But it's a neat game, the story is cool. And, then, well, there's Reno....::swooooooooooooooooon::

Agreed. There's a lot more between Cloud and Tifa, probably more than I understand at this point in the game.

It was possible, depending on my grades.

I would have told you a while back if I thought there was a good chance, heh. Just some safety precautions.

I'll take this time to do a thing I so rarely do...

SQUEE!

I love FF7. My favorite game ever. EVAR. I actually was a little misty-eyed when Aeris died, if only because I was 13 years old at the time.

Mostly though, I love the game because of the astral and illusory settings. The background graphics and overall atmosphere are just amazing to me.

FFVII, huh? I love the game myself, of course look at my screen name. :) Sephiroth is still my favorite villian of all time. By the end you'll understand why I think. As for Aeris dying I didn't really mind it much because I never really liked her, though I was pissed that I lost a character. :/ That alone sucked. Actually I think I liked that scene just because you got to see Sephiroth again. Also you'll see more cut scenes towards the end of the game. But you probably already know that.

Well enough that, I hope you like the game. It's not my favorite Final Fantasy or RPG but it is one of them. At the time it was out it was really amazing though. I hadn't experienced a game like that before when I played it.
