There's nothing like rejection to motivate a student.

Or a person. Anyway, if you hadn't heard yet, I was rejected from the UW (again...twice in one application period). And today I found out I might not have a job at the Boys and Girls Club this summer. I'll just do really, really, really, really, really ridiculously good (-looking) on my tests over the next two weeks ( Read more... )

The benefits of attending the community college far outweigh the consequences of not. If you wanted to work hard enough, you could have your associates done in 3 quarters. I went to the C.C. for two quarters, and to be honest, it was absolutely incredible. Great people, nice enviornment, and if you go in the morning, serious students who really want to be there.

i don't know if you've been there or not, but i went there over summer, and i REALLY like the campus. And the dorm rooms were actually pretty big, a little old school, but big. The campus was beautiful around summer time, and it overlooks the lake. I liked it. I have no idea about the school itself, just the campus.

Well, Ryan Stiles has his theatre there.

So you can meet him and junk.

The campus is beautiful.

That's really all the help I can offer.

The undergrad program struck me as just as good as the UW in quality and pristige.

I'm probably gonna be in the minority here, but I couldn't stand the place. There are many, many cool people but just the area.. for some reason I just would not be able to live there. The proximity of the CC to the main campus is a plus though, and student life is pretty damn good.

I like Western. I really, really do. Definitely more than I would like it anywhere else. I would have gotten lost in the huge environment at UW, but the size here is perfect, and the people are totally cool, not stuck up at all like at the private schools I visited. It's very diverse too, both in cultural backgrounds and personal experiences. The city is good, especially coming from the suburbs of Seattle. Downtown caters to college students--they've got awesome restaurants, music stores, tatoo parlors, head shops, the Upfront, an indie movie theatre, and lots of live shows (if you know where to look for the all-ages ones). Bellingham seems small and rather easily-conquerable, but when you start to explore the city you find out there's a lot more to do than it seems. The bus system is awesome and incredibly cheap. Because the city is so big and pretty easily accessable, there are a lot of opportunities for jobs--and pretty much anyone can get a job on campus. Shopping is okay, but I still take advantage of Seattle whenever I ( ... )
