Cavil and his airquotes. His disrespect for Gaius. It's perfect.

No matter what path she took, she always ended up back in the same place. Oh, Ellen. You have made me love her more than I already did. I feel such sympathy for her, I feel such regret, that she didn't get more. It is fitting to me that the Tighs just sweep things under the rug until they have some big blow-out and it comes up. I feel like you know these characters so well.

The vengeful side of Laura is excellent to see as well. That she would take "exquisite joy" in taking out Cylons is so in character and well-phrased. And her hatred of Gaius. And Cavil. These were people who were close to her and betrayed her.

Really and truly, this is everything a New Caprica fic should be. It's beautiful and eloquent andI want to read the next chapter so I can continue to immerse myself in your prose and I don't want to read the next chapter because then it will be done.

I've got a very strong, broad understanding of dysfunction. :)

These were people who were close to her and betrayed her.
Very fascinating observation. That made all of this hurt all the more, but Laura doesn't sit around and lick her wounds...she gets angry. I love her for that.

Your last paragraph was so touching. Thank you. ♥

Makes me so amazed to think of Laura's secrets that Ellen winds up taking to her grave...

Excellent point. ♥

I think Laura was concerned about this, in the back of her mind, and tjonesy pointed out to me in one brainstorming session that Laura probably, guiltily, felt some sort of relief when she'd finally processed that Ellen died.

When I get out, there'll be hell to pay. Now that's my Laura.
And it's so Laura that she's already planning to keep this whole thing from Bill *shakes head* Trust him, girl..

I loved Ellen and Laura's moment in the shower - is that weird? It was heartbreaking, oh yeah, but strangely beautiful too in its intimacy..

Anyway, off to read the last chapter *huggles Ellen close* *sniffles*

Not at *all* weird. It's one of my favorite moments in the story. It's so brief but the ramifications of it, and what it means to them in the moment and beyond, are so astounding. I thank larsfarm77 for that idea. :)

Thanks for reading and for giving Ellen hugs. She needs them.

You get to the heart of Saul and Ellen's relationship so well - how they hurt each other and get angry but in the end just accept who the other is and take comfort in each other anyway. I liked them before but I adore them after this story ( ... )

This is such wonderful feedback. And it's even more enjoyable getting it after a couple of weeks....unexpected feedback is like Christmas ;)

Thank you. I've never written them before (besides a few funny inserts in other stories) so to hear this makes me feel so, so good.

It's interesting how Laura and Ellen allow so much sympathy for the other but not nearly as much for themselves.
This is a great observation...not really one I'd noticed until you pointed it out, but I think it's definitely true.

Thanks for reading! :)

The moment in the shower was really heartwrenching. I like that they don't know how to really maintain their connection. That it was ephemeral and yet not. Sad but realistic.

Onward to the next chapter. I know you are going to break my heart.
