Originally in my head Orange Cardigan destroyed the castle, but when I decided he had to be a Barratt character I couldn't bring myself to make him act that way. But damn you Orange Cardigan, if you'd taken your rightful place alongside Richmond, you might have gone on to have amazing adventures with him like all the other Fielding/Barratt matchups! Instead you're probably an insurance adjuster or something. You'll never know what might have been ;_;

This is lovely, Richmond thinking of new additions to his castle as he goes, and the heart-breaking awareness children have ("he has to hide from the world...because they don't understand him!"). <3 <3 <3 <3

While the middle name was interesting, I do dread how many fics will probably have him say "My parents wanted a girl." Maybe they were going for irony, given Felicity's meaning (from wiki):

Felicity is an English feminine given name meaning "happiness". It is derived from the Latin word felicitas meaning "luck, good fortune".

I think that's exactly what they were going for, though I do think it was intentionally meant also as a "ooh what a girly name" joke (after all, Felix is the masculine form of Felicity of course and means the same thing).
