I'm sorry about the teen thing. Anytime you want to co-misurate, just let me know. Last night at 8 pm PG-14 announced she needed 40 note cards done for her History Day project. Hmmmm. Not enough time, even if we hadn't have had the 20 minute tantrum, which included her laying on the floor crying about how much of a loser she was.

Sigh.

I am told, however, that they do grow up.

you know what? i'd take even that right now. because at least CG would whining about what a loser SHE is. instead, we have "i have no responsibility in and for anything in my own life. it is all the fault of others" girl. the fact that she couldn't zip her own boots today was everyone else's fault, but not hers. even though she had on 3 fucking pairs of socks!!!!

anyhoooo, if she continues to wake me up 45 mins early every morning, she is gonna get a quick (and potentially fatal) lesson in what "not a morning person" really means.

unfortunately, she is awesome. if i can have her in a completely controlled environment with no outside stimulus or problems. that probably sounds familiar to you, and everyone else with kids old enough to talk.

Teenagers are, um...special. :) The lad has his moments too, although not like what you are describing. He is more moody. Forgetful, and easily distracted. A gets most of his bad attitude. That burst of hormones is really quite harsh. I'm constantly amazed by own parents didn't kill me because I was waaay worse to them than anything I've seen the boy do. Good luck!

I wonder what it was with sleeping last night? I slept like crap too and feel awful today.

There's a whole series of articles out there about how if you are wondering if your teenager is crazy...well, it's because they are. It goes through the brain development and organic changes happening in their brains throughout their teen years. It includes the effects of the neural pruning and their brains being flooded by growth and sex homones. Yep....crazy and damn little you can do about it other than let them grow out of it.

There is a great book called "Yes, your teen is crazy". We have a copy if anyone with a teen wants to borrow it. Because, they are crazy.
