It's called purring. No one knows how but they do it when they are happy, content or scared and hurt. It's just... something they do.

Purring huh? That's pretty neat, though it's odd that they'd do it for all those different emotions. That's like laughing when your happy, scared, or stubbed your toe. It's kinda odd, how are you supposed to know which they are feeling?
