Cuuute! And the fabrics are really fun. I love seeing other peoples' fabric choices in patchwork stuff.

I love every one of them! Ezra likes the bird--he is standing next to me right now screaming "red biiiiiird! red biiiiird!" very excitedly. ;)

PS. What king of sewing machine do you have? I'm in the market for one and completely overwhelmed by the choices.

i'm so glad they get the ezra stamp of approval! :)

i have a babylock machine, it's about 6 years old and is one of their less-fancy models (without a computer screen on it). it's honestly been a dream the whole time i've had it, and that's considering that i use it enough to run it into the ground. it's a good, solid machine. i've also heard that bernina and huskvarna make great machines, though i haven't used them. i started sewing on my mom's old singer, which was also good. i think the main thing is finding a sturdy one with 5-10 basic stitches, which is really all you need.

does this mean you're starting quilting???

Not quite up to quilting yet, but that's what I aspire to! So far I've made a tote bag and most of an apron for Aaron. I took a beginners class at the local high school, where we were actually sewing on Babylocks, and I really liked it. Bill bought me a Singer with a picture of Martha Stewart on the box, but as much as I trust Martha, I'm concerned because a) it's all electronic and I always assume something will go haywire b) it has too many bells & whistles (do I really need 75 stitches?) and c) it was bought at Target. If I buy a machine at the sewing store down the street, they will teach me how to use it and they will service it fr free and after a year I can trade it in for the full price towards an upgrade. So I think I am leaning towards the babylock at the local sew n' vac. Plus, the Marissa stamp of approval seals the deal!

Boy, I had a lot to say about that! ;)

yes, if you have a local sew & vac, that's the way to go, definitely! that's the type of place my mom got her machine (and mine, though i never bring it back to CT), and they are super about instruction, spare parts, tune-ups, etc. while the target machine probably would have been fine, i think customer service adds so much value to the purchase!

also, i am TOTALLY impressed that the local high school has babylocks!
