So my faithful laptop is having problems again. It all started last weekend, when my hard-drive became read-only all off a sudden. I restarted, and all was back to normal. No biggie, I figured

Is the laptop under warranty? If so, the solution is obvious. If not, new laptop time. (Any more, it's easier to just replace a machine than to try and diagnose it.) If you're feeling adventurous, you could rip it apart and see if the connection is solid.

Yeah, I went to the Apple store with it today. They basically told me that they could definitely fix it, but if it was the motherboard, it would cost me more than a new laptop. So yeah, I'm fucked. :p At least I backed up all my documents...
