Has anyone heard from the Ryans? Today on NPR I heard that Slidell is now pretty much off the map.

i am talking to nathan as of right now. but the last i heard they were in transit to a hotel in texarkana which is a n hour north of shreveport. so. they are safe. house maybe not.

Kenny said he talked to Colin on the phone and he's in Baton Rouge with his brother in his dorm, and the rest of his family is in Texas.

i talked to aaron and he said that him and colin are in baton rouge, and they are fine and that the rest of his family went to texas. So they are fine, but their house isnt so fine

I just found your post from google doing a search for slidell and blogs and I wanted you to know that I was in Slidell last night(I live in Pearl River to be exact) and it looks like a good 85% of all the buildings south of I-12 have at least some water in them, but most of them are still standing and can be fixed. The power is out and we really can't make it into slidell south of I-12 but the sherrifs tat we talked to by Brownswitch road told us it isn't as bad as the rumours. It was hit hard, around 150mph winds and a good few feet of rain, but most everything is still standing. I don't have a clue how long will the power is back on, but it's supposedly not going to take more than a few weeks will we are let back in. 866-898-2323 is the hotline that the sherrif's of st. tammanny setup to let us know when we can go back into town
