as celebration

as celebration goes my friends
we are a piss-poor nation of trees
who stare at the river going by drunk
with sullen eyes and stoic arms

why not celebrate!

slice cut drive bore bore bore
into the mud with angry slap happy
stick on a log in a swamp of confetti
s p r a y e d

all over yes yes

and dance dance flip fly over the heads
of all those angry poor bushes and their bonnets of bees who cry to their mothers the queen all hail because of some poor party celebrate celebrate bear who ran into the work place office hive complex tower because he had forgotten where he left his keys but he didnt care no no and he slipped off his shoes and felt the hot sun warm dried parched lovely heated sweaty sidewalk on his feet with their claws click click clack snapping in time to the drums of all our ears wondering who and where and why and how come the trees are standing so still even in the gale of a thousand beers opening at once celebrate sing and dance as another car drives by on its black rivers like roads like dreary mississippis who came home after curfew they did

dont forget you know you lost it all but the groove of the slick jazz band orientation theory
as a diploma slapped into your hands go design
a bridge over troubled oceans that vast with slick new beams
timbers and timbres and the cello with electricity grooves augmented ninths
in your typical avantgarde tragedy of music

but dance anyway
everyone else throws their shovel into the ground
and heaves the golden soil over their heavens
malls are great and everyone needs a parking lot
e v ery
one

so celebrate and swing baby swing those hips into the future of everything going dazzling neon in vegas thats actually your own backyard and those drags
drags drags
those stuporous sober ugly drags

just chop them all down
let the axe come
