Just a quick note - my uncle has died and I'm going to be away for a few days. I'm either leaving tomorrow or Thursday, but I wanted to make sure I posted this in case I disappear suddenly.

Wow...i'm sorry, babe. My grandmother died recently. I know how it feels. Well..not recently...about 3 years ago. But you know what I mean.

Thank you so much. My uncle and I were not very close. I hadn't seen any of my family since I was 19 and then I "rediscovered" them a little less than a year ago. I know try to spend every holiday with them because they are an amazing group of people.

It has turned out that I can't get off work to go to the funeral. :-( I feel really guilty because I wanted to go to support my father, you know? But my father has insisted that he totally understands. I just got home from my parents' house - I wanted to spend some time with them before they leave in the morning.

My grandmother died just about 5 years ago and she was the light of my life. The pain never really gets better, does it? So, I know exactly how you feel.
