Aahhhhhh.

Finally, I made it to one of the step classes at the Y. It felt so good to be moving, especially in a class like that. I'm out of shape though, and I've got a lot of work to do, but the class was fun. I looked like a complete dumbshit trying to be coordinated (everyone else there had it down), but I didn't really care. I want to go back and ( Read more... )

It was cool to see you there! You looked great...I know I took forever to learn all the damn cues when I started going, and I felt like a retard. Now I just feel that way when teaching. ;)

Haha, thanks!

And omygod, you were amazing! I've never seen someone rock the step like that before! I aspire to look like you in that class someday. I wanted to introduce myself to you officially, but I had to leave before class ended. I'll definitely be back. What days does that class run? Only Mondays or is it a Mon/Wed/Fri thing?

Aw, thanks...

It's Mon and Wed. Fridays are 'simply step' 5:35-6:35 without the extended core section.

Yeah, I wanted to say hi too. I will just have to wait till next time you make it in.

Don't you love the old ladies?

Yes! They were hilarious!

And I think I can make it to tomorrow's class, so maybe I'll see you then!

Im jealous. My gym offers a ton of free classes and I havent been a single time. I think the hard part is that initial feeling-like-a-dumbshit phase that scares me.

Come down and work out with me! I already know that we'd get a good ab workout just from laughing at each other. I have memberships to two different gyms, and one of them you can totally sneak into.

I go to a gym called "Shape"...it's across from the automall in a black and purple building. They have TONS of classes in the evening. It's the easiest gym in the world to sneak into. All you do when you go in is sign a member log with your name that's on the counter...all of my work out buddies just say they're from the shape in Lacey if any one is like "you new?"-which has only happened once. I've never actually bothered to sign in anyways. It's just a list of illegible signatures. I just go work out.
I suggest trying it sometime.

Funny you mention that. I have a membership there too! I signed up a long time ago and after about my tenth visit I realized that there's a sign in sheet. No one ever told me that. So yeah, sneaking in is almost the norm there. I haven't been to Shape in a while, but you're right, they have some fun classes. Have you tried any of them or do you just work out on your own?

I took a ball class there once from a slender middle-aged lady with huge boobs. The next day she came into the coffee shop I worked at, completely wasted (and probably on something else too... seriously), started crying about how her husband is leaving her, and then spilled her drink all over the counter. As a consolation for me having to clean up after her, she took out a Shape business card and scrawled "Scholarship for Kate - free 3 months mbrshp- Sweet girl!". Hahaha... I think people sneaking into Shape is the least of their problems.

I just work out on my own there. I try to avoid going to classes because they don't ever work out the areas I'm concerned with and I don't enjoy sweating it out with ladies old enough to be my mother. That and I can use the equipment as long as I want while everyone is doing the classes. Genius!

Oh yeah? Awesome! Hope Matt said good things. Tell him Hi for us the next time you talk to him.

This world definitely feels freakishly small sometimes.
