Wow, I made the exact opposite assessment, from dialogue to acting to cinematography. But then again I also thought Queen of the Damned was an excellent film. Well not really, but I found it so b-grade ridiculously hilarious that I watched it twice in a week and then bought it. Brokeback, on the other hand, I actually did think was a Fine Film. But I also got the only B of my community college career in a film class, so what do I know?
i think it means something that the only people i know who hate that movie are straight. every queer person i've polled about it loved it...i'm not exactly sure what i think it means just yet, but it's definitely something.
Ehh, I don't know about that... My friend Lee and his boyfriend Ryan saw Brokeback Mountain in theaters and had nothing but bad things to say about it. My friend James, also gay, has mixed feelings about it. But it got all this acclaim from the Oscars and whatnot, so I thought it would be better.
I thought the cinematorgraphy was beautiful, but I also thought that the movie as a whole had so much more potential.

I liked the idea of Brokeback Mountain, but then I was bored out of my mind when I was watching Brokeback Mountain.
