Yeah, don't turn on the news at any time of day. Read it instead because it's easier to distance yourself from the FUCKING STUPIDITY. Not that you shouldn't know about the stupidity but really you shouldn't have to feel it in your gut first thing in the morning.

I don't know your opinion of the conflict, though I'd assume you favor immediate withdrawl.

I'll simply say this: my cousin recently came back for a 2-week leave from Iraq with the 10th Mountain Division and he said (prior to the president coming out and saying it) that more troops are needed in the region if we want to stay over there for any period of time.

Anything short of sending more American forces has to be an immediate exit.

I say this as someone who is going into the Army within the next few months.
