Last night, Tyler got a call from his dad saying that he and his wife are not going to buy the house that Tyler and I are living in like they planned on. Our landlord is asking nearly $400,000 and even though it has a nice, big yard and a view of downtown, the price seems too high. We were pretty devastated last night. I am almost 100% positive that is my old duplex. The one where I lived directly before buying a house. If it is the one, it is both true and as good as it sounds. Though he actually upped the rent by $70 since I lived there. Probably because he did some upgrades.

The landlord is cool, a mid-twenties evergreen student who managers the property for his dad, and actually fixes stuff in a timely manner. It's a great size for a couple, and it is indeed dog friendly. The landlord is really sweet and accommodating about pets. For example, the place shares a backyard with the adjoining duplex, and due my dog's territorial tendencies, I had to install some roll-fence down the middle of the yard to keep him confined to our "half." The landlord was totally fine with this and even offered to do some of it for me. Who knows, maybe the fence is still there.

It is probably not too late- I don't think it's the time of year when the housing market is super-crazy.

There are probably still a couple of opium poppies growing in the back yard, too. :)

Nothing. The person never responded to my emails. I'm very discouraged and pessimistic about house searching at this point.
