It's a great size for a couple, and it is indeed dog friendly. The landlord is really sweet and accommodating about pets. For example, the place shares a backyard with the adjoining duplex, and due my dog's territorial tendencies, I had to install some roll-fence down the middle of the yard to keep him confined to our "half." The landlord was totally fine with this and even offered to do some of it for me. Who knows, maybe the fence is still there.
