This was beautiful. Horribly painful, and I'm glad you gave it time and that Sherlock still apologized- I'm a nasty vindictive person and well, death alone wouldn't let me forgive. He'd have to say exactly what Sherlock did, never again, and mean it

Fake death wouldn't make me forgive, either! I'm glad that worked for you. I still kind of hated Sherlock at the end, too, so it's good to know I'm not alone. It is a terrible thing. I can't believe it wouldn't have an effect on everything going forward, you know?

You nearly had me in tears, and I never cry at fic. This was truly heartrending, when John finds out, the utter desolation when he moves, all the pain. I've never been cheated on, but here I can certainly understand what John's going through, and when he lists all the faults in the cafe you can really see how it's affected him, and how unaware Sherlock is. And the add in of canon worked beautifully, and the ending, where they'll still hurt each other, just not as badly... brilliant.
