Fandomers, you should all be proud of the effort our lot's putting in at help_japan. It's AMAZING. I've done my share of these and none of them has had this kind of outpouring of love and effort, and there are even more comms doing great work in the name of Japan.

Someone in there (I can't find the thread at the mo) is auctioning off self-portraits that her kindergarten students in Japan did recently (with their permission, of course) -- last I checked it got up to 100 dollars. ;____; ♥ just incredible.

I'm doing what I can - offering my time at the table for the Japan Club's bake sale to give that money to Japan, ordering from Salvation Army this kickin' tshirt that funds go to Japan (100%) and praying all I can -- but in the midst of it, I'm not studying for Hinduism, a class that I'm already failing - and I find myself not really caring. I mean, granted the people that I know in Japan are safe so I should go back to studies (not that I've studied a scrap of Hinduism all semester anyway) -- but I still don't feel like what I'm doing is enough. I'm trying to make a point and I can't seem to...

I absolutely love how fandom is doing this. So much warm fuzzy (well, understatement).

And about part 2: Yes, you have to take care of yourself. It's the #1 priority, believe me I know. And yeah, writing helps, but talking does too. *HUG*
