Harper was as happy as a clam, which was unusual, to say the least. She certainly caught dear Uncle Claude's minor outburst as the curtain went down for intermission, spotting her mother, Greta, attempt to calm him down. Well, that as mostly certainly interesting. If by interesting you meant completely nutter and convinced him that Harper was better off in a mental hospital than writing plays. Not that he'd tell anyone that little opinion. He was, after all, supposed to be trying to get along. Not glaring, and making faces, or...well..anything of the sort.

With his arm around Bennie's waist, Leland tried to find Owen in the mass of people, which generally meant heading in the direction of Harper.

Yay.

Well, to be fair...Leland was convinced Harper disliked him with as much determination as he disliked her. After all, they didn't speak unless made to. Which, apparently, this was one such time. Unless Owen was going to magically appear and save him from the trails of making nice.

Yeah, yeah he was a terrible brother. He knows.

Harper, who had just finished speaking to Owen, but had been standing close to him, not wanting to make it obvious that something bad was definitely happening, relationship-wise.

And, there was Leland with his new girlfriend. She had seen him, so she very well couldn't have just looked away. That would have been too obvious. So, Harper merely gave him a polite nod.
