more spider!

So, I'm supposed to be report writing, but I spotted an excellent spider photo-op, and took a rather long break, oops! It was in a good spot for me to get my tripod positioned, and doing whatever spiders do that equates to sleep.

This guy has a body length of about 2mm. I couldn't put anything in shot to give some scale, as he's hanging from my ceiling. We call these "money spiders", which are the tiny black ones that float around in the summer, and you can't even feel them walking on you. I'm pretty sure the term covers a fair few species though, maybe somebody can identify it for me?

Cropped and zoomed...

Surprisingly hairy!

It's a little dim and blurry - I had to use 13 second exposures. I have lots like that, then I changed the lighting hoping he wouldn't scurry into hiding. 4 second exposures are better ;)

Spider!

You can't see the patterning on his back at all with the naked eye. Which is a shame, it's rather pretty.

And here's a crop from the above, not resized image:

Beedy eyes and shiny carapace :)

I am impressed with my macro lenses! Now I need to practice and get good. Definitely getting better with the raw processing tools.

Don't peek if you don't like spiders :)
