Sometimes the restarts may be related to windows update. My computer randomly restarts once in a blue moon, but it almost always tell me once I log back in that it was windows updated related.

there are free softwares, usually comes with new HD's that will do a bit-wise copy of your old disk to the new disk, it's pretty cool for upgrading hard drives
