I think my body likes it when I exercise consistently, regardless of which time of day. For me it tends to work out best first thing in the morning since that way I know I get it in and don't have to think about it the rest of the day. But I've worked out both in the morning and on my way home from work and have really liked both (except for how many people are in the gym right after work!). Good luck!

I have always exercised between 6 and 8. I wish I could exercise in the morning, but I'm just not that on top of things.

My schedule is different from most. I'm working 5p-3a. So what works for me is to hit the gym around 1:30p-2p, workout for an hour, then we run for about 40 minutes. Then I stretch. I need to be showered and completely ready for work by minimum 4:30-4:45p and then I ride my bike to work, usually directly from the gym.

When I was going to the gym most consistently prior to this schedule, it was usually after work, before dinner. One other time was mid-morning. My schedule, rather than my preference has dictated gym times.

In a perfect world, mid/late-morning seems to work best for my energy level (10a-11a) but right now, that's "early morning" for me since I don't get to sleep until 3:30a-4:30a.
