Thankful for the ups and the downs

I am thankful my cousin's death in a car crash earlier this month led to lives being saved or extended through her organ donation. From a 6 month old girl to a 64 year old man, there are 8 families this season who are very sorry for our loss and so thankful for their gain. Wine glasses raised to Gina for many years to come. I guess it is part of what makes me a curmudgeon, while I'm glad that bad happened instead of worse... I can never quite bring myself to being thankful for bad.

But I am thankful that other people seem to be able to find good in the bad, and thereby live a happier life. Because pretty much everyone deserves a happier life.

Take care, I hope you're getting to cook for tomorrow, or at least make the pies and cookies. Because cooking seems to make you happy. (See above re: everyone deserves ...)

Wow, you've had some awful things happen to your loved ones and you're still trying to see the bright side. Hugs! You guys are always welcome to visit us in Rock Hall, though you will have to take the indirect route by land.
