Laptop recommendations, please!

My cable has just finally pretty much died, I managed to get it charging again but I really don't think the it's going to last much longer. It's a shame because the laptop is in fine working order

well gabi has a compaq and it seemd bloody awesome and it didnt f up as much

everyone i know with HP has had it break BUT i don't know

I think I'm going to go for the Compaq, but a different one, it's £338 exc. VAT and it looks really good. :-D

Thanks for the advice, it's pretty much cemented my decision 'cause I still wasn't entirely convinced by Compaq as a whole lol.
