It seems like a pattern in my involvement in user-created community groups, that I'll get involved, become committed and responsible enough to be trusted, then have a leadership role--or at least a decision-making role--offered to me, without really having to seek it. That would make a great journal title/name.

Speaking of the Buddhists community... I'm going to be putting together a podcast called "The Secular Buddhist." Would it be alright if I occassionally put a link out to it, when it's ready to go?

I look forward to it. I find a secular perspective more accessible than the religious. It doesn't trip my psychological immune system.

This always seems to happen to my husband when he plays online games. He's always getting asked to be a guild leader or officer.

Hasn't happened to me yet with DDO... maybe I'm still too casual a gamer. My cleric was recruited for a guild, but it seems to be petering out. I suppose part of my own situation is that I'm a good facilitator but a terrible recruiter. So I'd be happy to help make decisions for an existing big guild, but not particularly good at trying to make a small guild viable and continuing.

(My netbook cursor was hovering over "post," and I apparently double-clicked the trackpad with my thumb before I finished.)

Oh dear. I've managed to be only a half-assed union member, but I could see it sucking someone in. And of course the complaints from half-assed union members have some more urgency than the complaints of half-assed Meetup members.
