Sexual Assault/Rape

My first real entry is going to deal with the subject of rape.

Rape is far more common than any of us seem to think:
- 1 in 4 Canadian women will be sexually assaulted in her lifetime.
- 60% of college males would commit sexual assault if they were certain they would not get caught.
- Only 6% of sexual assault is reported to the police.

Thank you for sharing this and I am so sorry for what happened to you.
Was this this past february , like a few weeks ago ?
Are you getting support and counseling ?

I saw you friended me. Not sure how you found me but just wanted to say that I read this and am friending you back.
I have written a lot about sexual abuse so perhaps you will find some helpful things in my journal.

And yes, it was a few weeks ago. I haven't gone in for counseling yet, mostly because I've been to some in the past and haven't found it all that helpful. I know I probably should, and I still likely will. We'll see how things go. I definitely have support though, my friends have been wonderful through this whole thing.
