When all else fails there's haiku

Today was a day of writing cover letters and composing queries, so to add some creative output without overburening my over-fried synapses, I turned to haiku, which is a form that I find increasingly comforting., if only because it allows for quick private reflection and creativity ( Read more... )

I once wrote a haiku for every day of the year a few years back. I love haiku -- the form is just as you've said. I couldn't think to add more than one line to it: It is a way of sending a picture postcard saying: Wish you were here!

They're neat. I did one sitting in the car once waiting for Fi.

Wind in barren tree,
Lamp on cold stone,
Silhouette of cat.

At least, I think that's how it went... Anyway, point is, yay haiku!
