Homemade Chocolate

I am in heaven. I've made chocolate at home. No, not from baker's chocolate that is melted and then moulded into a new confection but from raw cacao beans. Process is simple: grind the beans, add an equal part confectioner's sugar, vanilla extract to taste and a little water to make a paste. This sounds like a great way to spend an afternoon. Doing something that avoids the modernized world is very self assuring. It reminds me that even if the world fell apart I DO have the SKILLS to adapt and survive without the industry we have become so dependent on.

(BTW, I think that icon is terrific.)
