Name: Hobohodo Naruhobo Phoenix Wright
Age: 33
Gender: Male
Fandom: Ace Attorney Series; specifically: Ace Attorney - Apollo Justice
Timeline: Post-gaaaame so he isn't that much of a dick hahahaha.
History: The Ace Attorney Wiki is a wonderful thing.

Character Personality: Having come far from his early days as a lawyer, anyone who knew Phoenix Wright once back then would be surprised at how he's changed now. A far cry from the naive and easily-trusting individual that he once was, the Phoenix of now is much more cynical, viewing the world in a way that can be almost considered critical. It's obvious that he's jaded - probably in more ways than one can imagine - but considering what he went though, it is perhaps not as surprising as one think it might be. If there he is to be described in words, most would probably pick words like 'eccentric' or 'annoying' and 'irritating' (at least to some people) - then there's also others like 'absurdly cheerful', 'cunning', 'sharp' and even 'insane' for others. But one thing is clear though - Phoenix Wright's not the man he used to be, and will most likely never be again.

Upon first sight, one might take him to be not the most promising figure - from the way he dresses to the easygoing way he carries himself, it seems like the guy has nothing better to do than laze around, annoying some people and murdering the classics on the piano, if one ever gets to hear him play them in the first place. Still, knowing him better will reveal that Phoenix is not all that he seems to be: sharp-witted and surprisingly sharp, he's a guy that can make people feel just a little bit uneasy with the way he can easily make a meaningful jibe at them, in a way trying to pry them and see what makes them tick (a bad habit he's picked up in the last seven years). He's pretty good at reading people, and at times is quite analytical in his means and ways even nowadays he really didn't intend to.

It's without a doubt though that Phoenix is very much quite a jerk and a troll when it comes to things - he likes leaving things half-finished, having stuff half-explained, doing things in a manner that seems only half-completed and usually just makes people curse him to hell and back. Still, it's not without reason: its simply his way of making others think, to see how they react and respond so that he knows what to do and what not to do. Again, it is another bad habit, but it has its own good points when it comes ti it. Everything Phoenix does is usually for a reason, and there are only a few rare cases where he allows himself to have a few idiosyncrasies, though anyone managing to see that from him is a bit of a miracle, nowadays.

However, once you dig deep enough, you'll discover that Phoenix is still very much the man he used to be inside. He's still very much someone who stands for the greater good, the same guy who is very much emotionally-driven, the same man who, in the end, has always been that same selfless individual who only ever cares for others and not for himself instead. While he's certainly no longer the naive and easily-trusting person he once was, Phoenix still very much is still for and about the whole 'truth and justice' shtick, as much as he would prefer taking a backstage to everything after all that has happened to him. After all, his time is over - it's time for the new ones to take up the mantle and go onto the stage.

Character Abilities: BEING A HOBO Well uh. Being a wonderfully normal human and everything Phoenix has no special abilities to speak of, unless you count his power to be wonderfully sarcastic and smarmy and make people throw up their hands at him. Plus the terrible piano playing and his uncanny power to murder the classics no matter how easy they are - all he can really play is one tune and one tune alone, for whatever reason.

What he can do however is to be very good at poker (and reading people, on that note) and is reasonably quite sharp and smarter than most would imagine him to be. Even if he hides it more often than not and only reveals things when necessary (and sometimes just to see how people react, mostly for his own amusement).

Character Weaknesses: Even though the worst has passed for Phoenix, the scars hasn't exactly healed yet - he's better than before, certainly, but it is obvious to anyone who knew him that the last seven years have changed Phoenix far too much for him to properly be who he was again. He's changed and warped in many ways that at times, even Phoenix himself doesn't know who he is supposed to be now. While on the outside he keeps on his usual display of nonchalance, in the inside he is quite confused. Now that he's finally managed to accomplish what he's used seven whole years of his life to do, it is... admittedly hard now, to go back and settle into something else. He's used up such a long time, directed all his attentions onto one goal and one goal alone, and now that it is gone, he doesn't know what he can do now.

Along with that line, there's still a lot of things Phoenix can't easily change just yet - like his tendency to be distant with people, to hold everyone he knows at arm's length instead of allowing others to come close to him like before, and this will admittedly make resonation with almost any Meister hard to achieve. Too much has happened for him, and the man can't so easily shake off the habits he's formed out of need in the last seven years he staked his life onto his goal of taking down Kristoph Gavin. He's trying, in his own way - but really, it isn't as easy as others say it is.

Still, at the end of the day, Phoenix can really still trust nobody else but himself in general; there's only a very (very) small handful of people he properly trusts, but even then he'll still be in the shadows, getting in the down and dirty part of business in order to ensure the safety of those he had to put out at risk. It's hard to kick off that habit of seeing everyone he knows as another part of the clockwork, even though there's no more reason for him to do it already. As they say though - old habits die hard, especially when they've been there for the last seven years.

[ WEAPON ONLY SECTION ]

Why your character should be a Weapon: Despite all that has happened, in the end Phoenix still does have the same goal he had ever since young - even if he's taken a different path to do it now. Phoenix's always been for the people - while he did have his personal motives to take down his nemesis, in the end his actions were for the greater good in the long run. And he's also still very much motived by his own emotions - after all, the main reason for him doing what he did in canon was very much for his own sake. Deep inside, he's still the same as always, in as much as he attempts to hide it.

Still, he's always been selfless and dedicated in his own way, in order protecting others who are important to him in spite of all his flaws now, making himself take the downfall for everything. As a Weapon, he can continue doing that - by fighting hand-in-hand with the person he's partnered with, in order to protect them by using himself.

What is your character's Weapon form?: Phoenix takes the form of a simple combat knife without really anything too special - the only interesting feature about his form is that the handle, rather than it being normal, has an engraving around it. Studying it close will reveal that it is actually an imprint of a bloody Ace of Spades. Yeah. KB just likes her meaningful stuff sob.

Going on line with his great skills of bluffing and turning people's perception on him, Phoenix possesses the ability to fool the senses of other people via an illusion-like skill. Only accessible upon resonation, this ability can only work when the Meister has physical contact with Phoenix (like holding it for instance) while in his Weapon form. An illusion will cloak both Weapon and Meister, and what the illusion is will depend on what Phoenix can conjure up - however, this 'illusion' must be realistic enough for the other party to believe, or the ability will be ineffective (so basically Phoenix can't pretend him and his Meister to be a unicorn or something equally crazy).

The illusion only works best with him and his Meister, and while others can be added into this illusion (via physical contact with him or his Meister), the effectiveness will be reduced if this happens; to put it into something understandable, it'd be like comparing a beaker full of water to a wide tray that has that same amount of water in it. Increasing the area of the illusion will put a bigger strain on Phoenix, and this 'illusion cloak' kind of 'thins' out in a sense and so the effect will not be as strong as compared to just Phoenix and his Meister.

Effectiveness of this illusion will depend on how strong the resonation is; if its an initial resonation the illusion will be easy to see through and full resonation can perhaps even fool one's brain into thinking that what they even feel and sense might be true. Of course, this is also dependant to how easily swayed the other party is. This ability can only work while resonation is in place and while Meister and Weapon have contact with each other - the illusion will break the moment contact is lost. The illusion is also dependant on sight, so anyone who is blind or depends on other senses to 'see' things will not be affected. And of course, this illusion cannot last forever - how long and how much Phoenix can keep up this illusion depends on high his resonation is, and also how real and big said illusion is.

[ HEXED ABILITIES SECTION ]
Note: Due to events in the game, Phoenix has been hexed by the Witches after being kidnapped and experimented on (and going through a notable amount of trauma). Mod-approved, his abilities and stuff will be outlined here.

Hexed Animal Form: Phoe-okay yeah I can't say that with a straight face. >_> He'll be a Red-tailed hawk / buteo jamaicensis, whatever you want to call it.

Distinctive Markings: Blue eyes instead of the usual yellow. Plumage is also visibly brighter (redder/more flaming like did you see what I did there hurr hurr) than the usual red-tailed hawk that you see around. And the back of his head is still spiky-like-ish, but not as terrible as his hairstyle when human.

Chant: Occhio sopra della astore. (A rough and terribad translation of ‘eye of the hawk’ in Italian with the aid of an online dictionary hahahaha.)

Spell: (NOTE: Phoenix's spell is sealed for now, and will only be unlocked later after events and mod approval.) Aerial Ace - Grants Phoenix a burst of speed fast enough that he seems to vanish instantly with the naked eye - and using this speed he is able to strike his target in a vicious high-velocity tackle, if necessary.

Limitations: Because I am awesome like that, he has a ton of them as will be stated below.
  • Only applicable when he's all feathery AKA animal form only.
  • The speed and strength of impact on the target depends on the distance covered to build velocity. The farther he starts, the faster he becomes and the stronger the impact.
  • He can’t change directions once he’s started, but he can stop. If he stops, that will count as one use.
  • The high-velocity tackle inflicts damage to both the target and the user. At minimum, 20% of the damage caused to the target is reflected back on the attacker. Unless healed at the clinic, damage taken during these attacks must heal naturally and will affect any further uses of the Aerial Ace spell.
  • The use of such an attack will transform the user back to human form, greatly reduces stamina and causes GREAT HUNGER (because he uses all his energy in the attack, yes). The user will need to transform back into human form quickly after.
  • The ability can only be used once a day.
