Heh, yeah, I never...really expected this to all happen so fast as it did, but I guess in the long run it's better this way. The holes in the ranks needed to be filled sooner, not later, and I'm proud to do my part to try and get the Gotei back on its feet. I know it ain't gonna be a smooth ride for a while, but I never liked doin' things the easy way anyhow. Thank you for your help and support in getting this far; your advice has been invaluable, and I'd be honored to spar with you anytime.

And...don't worry. I'll...figure something out with Hinamori. I'm not expecting her to just take this with a grain of salt; I'm a little worried about her too. I'm not gonna just let her close in on herself though.

Ah...actually, there's something you should probably know. I'll send you a butterfly; I dunno just exactly how private this thing is.

Time certainly flies, but yes, it is high-time old wounds were patched up. You, Kira, Hisagi, and Madarame will serve us all well. For Kira and Hisagi, and especially you, overcoming the stigmas of your predecessors will be difficult, but the best of work is done under pressure. You'll come through it alright, and if I need someone to keep me on my toes in a sword fight, I know where to turn.

I'll be waiting for that butterfly, if you wish to keep things private.
