end of semester
only a couple weeks left in my first year teaching. its been a hell of a thing. i think its like parenting for lots of reasons, not the least of which is that you're so vulnerable all of a sudden to scrutiny but you can't flinch. you're in the bathroom with an audience who will not think twice about divulging your activities to other shoppers

how are you?
man,summer's going so fast. i've had the past month off basically except for once a week at the art supply store and it's been amazing. i'm painting again and running and i feel almost human. i'm teaching an art history class at a community college in bloomington. it's survey one so i get to talk about fun things things like the fertile crescent and cavemen and the code of hammurabi. starts monday and goes for 8 weeks. i am going to stay at Herron another year. its not what i wanted exactly but i'm so happy to have it as an option. i think all this teaching experience has got to make a difference next year. i hope.
hope all is well with you guys and your not-hurt foot is healing. wish i could get home but i don't think its going to happen.
