I don't update very often because i feel i don't have much in common with people on here really any more it's nothing personal it's just the way it is

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I highly doubt it has anything to do with being single or not having a child. I didn't have Megan until I was 25 and I don't think that changed the way people viewed my opinion. Normally its the way you conduct yourself as a person and how you convey your views or ideas for other people to see.
That said, having a child definitely matures a person and gives you a new way of looking at things, so perhaps you see elements of that in your view, but as a knock on effect of having children, on the person themselves.
As for having things in common with people - I think surely that's just whether or not you want to have things in common with us. Amy and I have a 9 year age gap between us, I'm married with 2 children and housewife, while she's still young, with a boyfriend and working. Friendships are what you make of them, don't just dismiss us because the places we all are in our lives. Perhaps you just choose not to have things in common with us :)
