Today I was reminded of why I like college so much.

My American literature class, which is usually fairly dull and uneventful, completely blew my mind today. We were discussing Walt Whitman's Song of Myself, which I know I've been exposed to before, but which I definitely didn't remember being quite this amazing. I knew I should have taken AmLit. British Literature has been less than thrilling.

Yeah, I almost took Brit Lit AND Am Lit, but decided that that would be against my best interest. lol

walt whitman is fantastic. I'd have to say Leaves of Grass is honestly one of my favorite books. I like his poems individually (not so much the civil war ones) but reading them all together in a book... they just flow and have kind of a hypnotic feel. They have a Walt Whitman exhibit at the national Library of Congress, though I'm pretty sure it closes this week.

Well, maybe we should make an impromptu field trip there??

And I really want March of the Penguins to come out on DVD so that we can have a movie watching party.
