I feel like my presence is a big red target on my family's house. For that reason, I'll be glad to be back at school. I can't imagine what it must have been like for it to happen so close to home. My deepest sympathies.
Mmm....it - never feels like something that can happen to you, right? Until it does. Or, well, it hasn't to me, but just the fact that I had that feeling until I heard I still feel awful for having felt so safe.

...apparently, she was - the mother of someone here...the child in the article was a classmate. I didn't know.
