They're happening everywhere, man. Like they're throwing darts at a map.

True, it's just...[A little ink dribbling as he thinks.]

Who would do something like this?

Whoa, whoa, wait a moment, you mean to tell me that that happened in your own neighborhood?

Okay, that comes too close to home for you, so I wouldn't blame you at all for wanting to stay put no matter what.

Not - on my street, or anything like that...

But the same district. Bit larger than "neighborhood", but...

[There's occasionally a slight tremor in the handwriting, and places where the ink is a little heavier at the corners of words.]

I know how you feel. This whole thing is just...

I feel like my presence is a big red target on my family's house. For that reason, I'll be glad to be back at school. I can't imagine what it must have been like for it to happen so close to home. My deepest sympathies.

[It takes a while for Ryou to notice the new writing, since he's discovered something more. And now feels like dirt.]

...apparently, she was - the mother of someone here...the child in the article was a classmate. I didn't know.

Thoughtless of me, huh...

Do you think being out of the country would help in avoiding the danger?

It's funny, I don't really know what to think anymore.

But I wouldn't want to be the only one away from home. If my family were still there I'd worry just as much.

...I think I can understand that.

I haven't even left yet, and I'm worried what might happen, while we're safe in Hogwarts.

Mmm....it - never feels like something that can happen to you, right? Until it does. Or, well, it hasn't to me, but just the fact that I had that feeling until I heard I still feel awful for having felt so safe.
