I think you're a good person, K., but if you want to make changes, go for it-- HOWEVER, I wish you'd approach this with a more positive than negative understanding of who you are, ie, a good person and not worthless. Maybe you aren't the kind of amazing you want to be YET, but you're also not worthless.
And I hate to say it, but Craig cheated on you because he's sort of an ASS. That's why cheaters cheat. The reasoning behind cheating is rarely strong enough to justify it, despite whatever reasons sociopaths come up with it. That doesn't mean people who cheat should be broken up with, just that you can NEVER be the flawless creature that is above being cheated on-- and that Craig acted like an ASS, and if he is an ASS, then it's not really your fault. The responsibility of both parties is to NOT cheat despite each others' flaws. No amount of weight gained or lack of motivation or whatever justifies his cheating.
don't think you are worthless because your boyfriend cheated on you. people cheat, i have found, due to their own insecurities. more likely, it had something to do with the way he feels about himself than the way he feels about you.
cheating is never RIGHT, but that doesn't mean that there isn't something deeper behind it. clearly you have decided not to just write him off as an asshole because you are willing to give him another chance. i think that is a good, though extremely difficult, thing to do.
the important thing to remember is that he cheated because something is wrong with HIM, not YOU.
