[There's some sounds in the background, rummaging sounds maybe.] Is it just me, or does the food taste weird to anyone else here?

I mean.. it's not bad; I've had worse. It just tastes kinda like somethin' is missing. The food in the prison tasted that way too. It's not like Vault food either. It's.. I dunno.

.. Was it supposed to? I mean, it wasn't that bad for prison. I guess I figured it'd be a lot worse. [There's a pause and some rummaging sounds.] Uhm.. fresh. It tasted like.. like it was good for you, you know? This stuff doesn't taste like that at all.

I don't see very many animals? Maybe I'm not looking in the right place. [yep he took you seriously.]

As long as it's not people, I don't mind too much. [WHO ALMOST ATE THE STRANGE MEAT? that's right, this kid.]

It tastes perfectly normal to me. But then I can't say I'm sure what "vault food" would taste like.

It tasted fresh. Like, you could eat it and even if you didn't like the flavor you could taste that it was good for you. Like Pre-War food, except not all the packaged stuff. That stuff's pretty gross.

I suppose that'd depend on the war. But so long as you're not loading up on crisps and cake and the like most of this should still be just as good for you.

The Great War. It's okay if you haven't heard of it. I mean, everybody I talked to already hasn't anyway. [There's a brief, guilty silence.] Not usually! Like, not all the time.

Just doesn't have that same charm that comes with being 200 years old or irradiated, does it?

That's it! The radiation! Man, I knew it was missing somethin'! [there's an audible pause.] That's kinda lame. I mean, who the heck misses two hundred year old food? [There's some more rummaging sounds.] Does it taste funny to you too?

A little, yeah. I guess when you grow up used to the old stuff, the 'normal' stuff will taste wrong or weird.

Yeah.. I mean, I didn't grow up on it? But it's all I've had to eat for a while now. I tried to get something to eat when I went back to the Vault, but it wasn't the same. Gotta have my rads.
