I don't often read much Star Trek fic (I mostly lurk because I am more passionate about Colin Morgan's face Merlin, and I really don't have the time or energy to balance two fandoms when I do them the way I do them). I am sure those of you who are in Star Trek read this back when it was posted (unlike myself). I only stumbled across this because I stumbled across the art for it which inspired me to sit down and read this. Now I read this about, oh, a month ago and was pretty sure I wasn't going to rec it because no one is here for my thoughts on Spock's sexiness. But today as I was making - um. We're going to call it lunch even if it was 4:00. Whatever. Anyway. As I was cooking, Don't Stop Believing (the Journey version) came up on shuffle and as that was what made me read this originally (I am so lame and I don't even care) since the title comes from it, I decided I had to go ahead and rec it. Even if all of you are giving me this look: O.o
I love it. It was brilliant and interesting and a new take (of sorts) on the hooker!au. I was so hooked that I just read through the whole thing in one sitting and was sad to see it over.

Ahahaha I am all kinds of in love with this. There are only six parts so far and this Merlin already owns my heart. The prompt is: They gave me a glowstick necklace to wear so they could locate me if I wandered off into the woods. Drunk Merlin is a favorite of mine and this drunk (and a little high) Merlin is possibly one of the best I've seen. Glow worm! I love it. I love Arthur and high as a kite Gwaine and Merlin. The secretary bit was my favorite. If you follow WIP's like I do, add this to your list. It is brilliant.
★ Fire in the Rain by eloquent-toast; One Part; NC-17; (warnings for angst and character death - not Arthur or Merlin)
Author's Summary: It was over, until you kissed my lips, an you saved me.
This was for the prompt I left at kinkme_merlin: Arthur/Merlin, vid, art or fic based on (or using) ADELE's Set Fire to the Rain (lyrics can be found in this vid on youtube here or here) When I prompted this, I never would have thought this would be the result. And I love that. In fact, I love it even more for the fact that it went in a direction I would never have anticipated. This is really gorgeous and perfectly captures all the things I feel when I listen to that song. I would second the recommendation that you listen to the song before you read for it to make more sense, but then I just really adore this song and would recommend you listen to it anyway. But seriously, read this. It's fantastic.

I have a thing about stars, so I think it would be pretty obvious to say that the night scene is my favorite. Really beautiful and a gorgeous visual for that moment in the fic. I loved all of these, though, and these did inspire me to read the fic because I loved them so much.

Really love the concept behind this one. I love the spin on Merlin and Arthur's first meeting with Merlin being mistaken for his father. I am in awe of the ball of light which really is difficult to get just right. I love the beads in Merlin's hair and his necklace which make him look so sexy worldly and magically awesome. I love how well amphigoury does light and the play of light on clothes and skin. This looks so mysterious and cool. I desperately want fic for this now to explore this as it deserves, you know? Love it.
★ Some Time Off by madnessisreal; WS, Arthur, Merlin
More camping! I love the soft colours used and the lazy gentle feel to it. Merlin's boots are particularly well done and I love the style of the whole piece. It is almost whimsical and light. Such a lovely captured moment.
