you should go to the union even if you didn't get in yet. they might represent you nonetheless if you have a valid case.

were you going to join IBT or a different union? if IBT let me know which local, i'll ask my pops for guidance; he's a trustee for the teamsters so i might be able to feel him out on whether you could make a grievance or not.

unless you don't want the job then fuck it~~ :D

talked to pop dukes, he said he can't guess whether you'd get union representation because he doesn't know what the contract looks like; particularly how it handles "casuals," though you were planning to join so maybe that helps.

he asked what local (IBT local 177 maybe) you were gonna join and said that another business agent in his office handles UPS, so he's gonna talk to him re: whether you could file a grievance or not. he also said you could get a lawyer to try and get workman's comp since you were injured onsite. that won't get your job back obviously.

anyway let me know which IBT local if you want him to look into it further for you
