Feels.

I've lost the link already, but the (true!) story goes like this:

Back in the 1980s, a woman graduating from college learns her father would be giving her money for her graduation present. "Good," she says, "I want to buy a racing bike."

He gives her a camera. He doesn't want his daughter doing competitive cycling. (Stick with me, the story gets better.) Her mother, though, says she can do anything she sets her mind to.

She borrows money to buy the bike. She competes in races. She persuades the coach of a U.S. team going to France for a Tour Feminin to give her the team's open spot.

She goes to France. She captures the polka dot jersey (best climber). When she's photographed with the man who's the favorite for the men's race, she realizes she might actually win this thing. (Being a truncated version of the Tour de France, but one that includes all the climbs.)

She tries to call her father in the States to let him know to watch, but she can't get ahold of him.

Crossing the finish line as the winner of the Tour, she hears someone cheering for her by name, in English. Her father had gotten a last minute flight to France, and then gone under the barriers to be at the finish line.

He told the guards, "Moi papa, moi papa."

I'm not crying, I'm just... ok, I'm crying.
