I'm sorry, it sounds awful. I went to the gas station yesterday and managed to lose my credit card without ever buying any gas and then went home. A much less funny story, but I had the same "What on earth?? Why me???? This isn't fair! What is wrong with the universe?" feeling when my credit card apparently spontaneously combusted... mixed with a "I hate getting gas" feeling. :)
Long story short: you rock. And when do you leave for Japan??
