WHO: Sharon, Helo, Hera?
WHAT: Sharon's downloading
WHERE: Hallway, possibly back to their quarters

Downloading on the base was different than on a Resurrection Ship. Not any less painful or less stressful, not better in any way, really. Just...different. For one, she didn't wake up naked covered in a slick, white liquid, surrounded by her brothers ( Read more... )

Helo had managed to make his way to the art room, and pick up his daughter. Of course she had wanted to know what had him so upset. All he could tell her was to not worry about it, and that they had to go home to meet mommy. It was one of the hardest things he'd ever done. Carefully he avoided the hallway with Sharon's corpse on the way back to their quarters. The thought of it still made him sick. Thankfully the art teacher had given Hera some new crayons and paper to work with. That would keep her distracted while he called ARMOR.

"Yes, HQ? This is Agathon. There's...a...just go to hallway 4-D, and take care of things. There won't be a need for an investigation. I've already found the person responsible. No, we won't be arresting them. It's...complicated. Thank you. If you see my wife please bring her back here immediately." Hanging up the phone his face in his hands, and rubbed his eyes. Sitting quietly he watched his daughter waiting for Sharon to come back. He knew she would. She had too.

He was on his feet, and at her side as quick as he could manage. "Sharon, Sharon it's okay. I know, I know it was Lee." Dropping to his knees he reached out to touch her. Whatever was going on in her head the last thing he wanted was her to go running off after Lee right now. "Hera is here. She's safe."

Sharon gave herself the minute. Allowed herself to take in the sight before her: her husband and her daughter were safe. Helo was next to her, Hera was in front of her playing with crayons and paper. Her little artist. They were safe. They were both safe.

She turned to look at her husband, their eyes connecting. He was reaching out to her, and she grasped his hand, grateful to feel it in her own again. It grounded her, helped her feel less of the disconnect. Helped her to focus on her purpose.

Sharon suddenly struggled to stand, still out of breath but with fire in her eyes. "You're both safe...both safe right now. But not for long, not before he comes here..." She sucked in a breath of air, "I won't let him hurt you...I'll die again and again before he touches Hera...I'll kill him!" And she would do it, too. Do whatever was necessary to protect her family. God be damned.
